Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to this issue of The Bright Side! Thanks so much to those of you who have written and wondered where the heck I have been! I'll tell you I have been very busy and have given myself permission to write just one issue (this one!) of this e-zine in October. Beginning in November, we will resume our regular schedule of a bi-weekly e-zine. Thanks for your patience and kind regards during this transitional time.

So what have I been up to? A lot! Coaching AWESOME clients! :-) And creating a dream project based on my life purpose called The Inner Peace Project (forthcoming website will be www.innerpeaceproject.com), which will be a six month course for twelve (space is limited due to the nature of the intense work) very dedicated people who are seeking to move their lives to a place of peace and harmony. We'll launch in January 2003 -- stay tuned for the details! I am very excited about this!

I am also BUSY as the Chairperson for International Coach Federation conference which will take place October 23 - 26 in Atlanta, Georgia. Many of you have inquired about the conference, and if you would like to take a peek, please visit http://www.coachfederation.org/conference/namerica/index.htm. We expect to have an inspiring and powerful conference, hosting speakers such as Jack Canfield, Ken Blanchard, Benjamin Zander and Mark Bryan. If you are interested in learning about becoming a coach, this is the premiere place to get immersed in our community. There's still time to register so please check it out!

I hope this finds you well in your corner of the world!
With Love,
Beth

What's Your Intention For This Week?

"The ability to concentrate and to use your time well is everything."
~ Lee Iaccoca

I often ask my clients, "Is life happening to you or are you making things happen in your life?" Many times we lose sight of the fact that that we can create the events we want to manifest in our lives. We can choose a plan for ourselves and execute it in order to bring about the changes we wish to see and the goals we wish to achieve. I believe we are all co-creators with God and when we tap into that partnership, life suddenly becomes much more effortless. Faith and perseverance are beautiful gifts that make dreams come true.

One of the simplest things we can do for ourselves, in pursuit of a life we love, is to set our intention firmly each week. Here are four important questions to ask yourself each week to help you stay on target in achieving your goals.

1. What do I want/need for myself this week? This question puzzles people sometimes -- they have never considered asking for what they need. We all do have needs, though, and can desire anything -- money, new clients, peace, rest, self-discipline, faith or anything else. When you earnestly ask this question, prepare for a strong response. Ask ... the answers are within you.

2. What do I need to do to make this happen? It's been said that action plus intention creates a miracle. I believe that if you want to see something grand manifest itself in your life, you have to get off your duff and do something about it. :-) Without action and ownership, a dream is merely a wish.

3. What does God (the Universe) need to do to make this happen? Ask and believe that your request has been heard and is already being answered beyond more than you can even imagine. If we truly desire something, and find that it is not forthcoming from our Higher Power, what is the message for us? Is the timing right? Are my intentions pure and worthy? Is there a bigger plan for my life in progress here? If there is no obvious answer, I can be patient and trust that all things are working together for the highest good.

4. Who can give me support this week? We all need support. And to make our dreams come true we all need accountability too. Where can you get the support you need in a loving way? Who will hold you accountable for the promises you make to yourself? Maybe a spouse, coworker, friend, coach, minister or support group. Ask and take that step toward the life you want.

Lastly, take the information from the above questions and put it all together for your affirmative intention, trusting that life is unfolding exactly as it should.

My affirmative intention for this week is ... _______________________________________________________________________________________________.

Ask for what you want, take action to get it, get some support, and trust that all is perfect on your life journey! That's what makes dream come true!

Soul Restoration Tip

I know a woman who grew up listening to her mother tell her that she had a horrible flaw. The woman believed that if she could just identify what was wrong with her, she could fix it. During a retreat, she asked if anyone in the room could see her flaw, and one participant raised her hand. She looked her right in the eye and said, “I do know your
flaw. Your flaw is you believe you have a flaw.” The woman suddenly realized the only thing wrong with her was a false belief. God hadn't erred in creating her, after all. Vow today to erase a false belief about yourself.
