Hello! Welcome to this issue of The Bright Side! Many new subscribers -- thank you for joining us! Please be sure to pass this along to others if you feel they could benefit and encourage them to subscribe. Thank you!

Many thanks to all of you who sent emails inquiring about my trip to Ireland. It was everything wonderful that I expected. The country is gorgeous and Dublin is exciting. The greatest assets in Ireland, however, are the people! I loved their openness and honesty! That are who they are and that's that. I loved every minute!

I want to remind you once more about the opportunity to have access to some very cool coaching tools from Coachville. Membership to this unique coaching community costs $79 for a LIFETIME of coaching, training and resources for your success! You get programs and checklists, training, groups, and networks to reach your own goals, or to coach your staff, colleagues, friends and family to reach their goals. There are hundreds of resources for your success!

It is totally different from buying a series of books or tapes one at a time, or signing up for personal training. It combines the best of both, while costing less than either. Check it out by clicking on the link at my site www.brightsidecoaching.com/beth.htm. Located at the bottom of the page, click on the link that says "Become a Coach! Join today! Coachville." Enjoy!

The Mind, Body and Soul Connection

Recently, I was talking with one of my brilliant clients about some of the challenges she was facing. She asked an important question that took me a little bit by surprise. She wanted to know how I get through my "stuff" when it comes my way. "Stuff" here meaning obstacles (or challenges as I prefer to call them).

I really didn't have to think about it very long. Certainly, everyone has his/her own ways of coping with "stuff." I would like to share what works for me and what I suggest for my clients. I call it the "Mind, Body and Soul Connection."

1. For the mind: CPS or Constant Positive Saturation. I fill my time and mind with any and every positive thing I can. I read deep quotes and uplifting books. I often use affirmations and eliminate as much negativity (including negative people) as I can from my life. The saturation works to keep my perspective where I want it to be ... which is in a healthy place ... in spite of external circumstances.

I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, meaning the things we concentrate on and think about are very often the things we attract into our life. I don't know about you, but I want the good "stuff"! You know what they say, "attitude is everything!"

2. For the body: Move. Yes, move. ANY kind of movement works. It helps with depression and it helps keep your body systems flowing naturally. If you aren't up to a full workout (and who is when times are tough?), just try a stroll. Or stretching. Yoga is great. Maybe just left some light weights for a few minutes. Or dance. Just move. Just do it. (Who said that?!) ;-)

3. For the soul: Create the space for peace. Often in the midst of our struggles, it is difficult to find time to slow down and take care of your spirit. I find that even a few minutes to get quiet makes a world of difference. I use the time to pray or meditate. Believe me, even a few minutes of quiet time can drastically improve your outlook and your emotional health.

It's so easy to zone out in front of the television. What happens then, however, the mind doesn't have the opportunity to "settle" or process completely. Most therapists will tell you that it is far better to fully experience your feelings as you encounter them rather than ignore them and have to deal with them at another time. One of the healthiest things you can do is to shut down for a few minutes and connect with your soul. Try it!

That brings us back to our "stuff." We all have it and we all have to deal with it at certain times. Stress comes as a result of being disconnected in some way from our mind, body and/or soul. Be honest with others and with yourself about what you need when life is tough. Take the time and make the effort to connect in these ways, and I believe, like many of us, you will find your challenges much easier to deal with.

A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be. --- Tom Landry
