Hello and a warm welcome to all!   Thanks for being a part of our community and for sharing with others!  Much appreciated!

I receive lots of inquiries about the benefits of coaching in businesses, something I really enjoy.  In a recent survey of 488 Human Resource Professionals, 79% think organizations will increasingly use coaching as part of their succession planning.   Further, within the organizations surveyed, 64% use a coach for skill development or style differences.  Those are the individuals/groups I work within the business realm -- focusing on communication styles and developing leadership qualities.  If you'd like to see the entire survey or inquire about coaching with me, please send an email to: CoachingRequests@aol.com.  Let's arrange a mutually beneficial partnership!

With Love,
Beth

A FUNKy Situation

Let me tell you what happened.  I had a client who was in a major FUNK.  It's true.  She had lots of stuff on within and was having trouble seeing the good in anything.  Even worse, her thoughts were like magnets for anything negative. Her mind was becoming a "negativity minefield." The more she thought about how tough life was and how unfair people were, the worse it seemed to get.

I said, "Lisa," (not her real name, of course) "you are really in a FUNK."
"What do you mean?", she asked.
"You know, a FUNK: Feeling Unworthy Not Kindhearted," I said.
"Oooooohhhhhh.", Lisa said.  And the light went on.

I know of people who spend their entire lives in a FUNK.  It's the thief of joy, peace and personal growth.  Here are my ways for reframing the FUNK and moving on with an extraordinary life!  That is, by golly, what most of us desire!

First off, recognize that a FUNK is, indeed, a feeling.  I believe that our feelings are our choices.  We can choose love or we can choose fear.  We can choose to be kind or to be crass.  If we can change our basic feelings, we can change the overall feeling of malaise that comes with a FUNK.  (Please note that I am not referring here to someone who is clinically depressed and in need of medication.)  Just recognizing that you have the power to alter the FUNK is the first step in moving through it.

Unworthy.  I'm sure we have all felt that one from time to time.  The quickest remedy to these feelings is to counter them with something productive.  It's quite simple actually: if we feel unworthy, what can we do to change that and feel WORTHY?   We could begin smiling and making someone's day, taking a class, spending time with someone who thinks you hung the moon, giving to a charity, etc. All these little things boost self-worth, which is one of the best gifts to give yourself and the world.

What happens when we are not kindhearted?  It's been my experience that ugliness breeds more of it's own kind. Maybe we think the worst of people or maybe we don't allow ourselves to have the opportunity to give back to the universe enough.  Perhaps our heart feels lack, but not the abundance that is possible. Whatever it is that we focus on is what we get more of.  Norman Vincent Peal recognized that many years ago when he wrote the classic bestseller, The Power of Positive Thinking.

Author and medical doctor Joan Borysenko says that when Einstein was asked what he thought the most important question was that a human being needed to answer.  His reply was, "Is the universe friendly or not?"

How would you answer that question?  In my mind, the only answer possible is a very loud and juicy, "YES!!!"

My Wish For You

You may notice that you are receiving this e-zine a day after our regularly scheduled delivery.  I know!  And while I'd love to blame it on a web problem or some other Internet glitch, the truth is that I have just been otherwise engaged and could not get to putting it all together before now.  And you know what?  I am OK with that!   :-)  In fact, I am GREAT with that!

I am taking to heart the direction I lead my clients in -- trusting that timing is always "perfect" and the real secret to success is staying in the present moment.   This is a lesson I keep re-learning, although I am getting better.  Therefore, I, hereby, grant myself permission to be flexible!

How about you?  If there anything you'd like to give yourself permission for?   Try it and watch the stress melt away.  It's lovely!

Wishing you permission to be flexible and have fun in this friendly Universe!
